Our History
Learn about the origins of Glasgow Pride, our journey, and the milestones we've achieved along the way:
In June 2024, a group of nine passionate individuals came together with a shared vision to create Glasgow Pride. Driven by a commitment to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies in Glasgow and Barren County, we embarked on a mission to celebrate diversity, promote acceptance, and ensure equity for all. Through dedicated advocacy, educational initiatives, and community outreach, Glasgow Pride aims to empower LGBTQ+ individuals, collaborate with local partners, and build a safe, welcoming space where everyone can thrive authentically and without fear of discrimination. Just six weeks after forming, the committee held the inaugural Glasgow Pride event on August 3rd, 2024, marking a significant milestone in our journey to create a vibrant and inclusive community.
