Our board brings together a wealth of knowledge and experience, ensuring that every event we host is meaningful and impactful. Together, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that encourages love and acceptance for all identities.

Chadwick Shockley, Chair

Chadwick Shockley is the Chair of Glasgow Pride, bringing his multifaceted talents as a musician, artisan, and community leader to the organization. With a lifelong career in music and the arts, Chadwick is a well-known figure in the Glasgow community, having performed at numerous local venues, including the historic Plaza Theatre. He is a former disability consultant and a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, having come out at age 28.
Chadwick currently serves as the Director of Music for First Presbyterian Church and the Costume/Music Director for Barn Lot Theater, as well as keeping a full schedule of private piano students. He is a passionate supporter of inclusivity and advocates for the LGBTQ+ community through his involvement with Glasgow Pride. Chadwick’s commitment to advocacy and social change is matched by his love for the arts, making him a vibrant and dedicated leader of the Pride movement.

Alicia Morgan, Secretary

A Kentucky native, Alicia moved back to her hometown in 2015, bringing with her experience in data analysis and a passion for community advocacy. With over 7 years in the healthcare industry, she leverages her certification in Data Science to drive impactful decisions that benefit both healthcare systems and underserved populations.A dedicated activist and LGBTQ+ advocate, Alicia is committed to advancing equality and amplifying voices within her community, she also serves on the board of the local NAACP Cave Area Chapter. Outside of her professional work, Alicia is a proud Mother who enjoys hiking, traveling, and adding to her ever-growing collection of plants.

Amber Fisher, Treasurer

A lifelong resident of Glasgow, KY, Amber Fisher is an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, women’s rights, and environmental causes. Amber holds a Master of Science in Management and Leadership and is currently pursuing a second bachelor’s degree in computer science. She has over a decade of experience in healthcare and now works in health information technology as an informaticist. In her free time, Amber enjoys hiking, reading, and listening to live bluegrass music. Amber is passionate about making Glasgow a more inclusive and progressive place, and she believes that Glasgow Pride plays a crucial role in promoting LGBTQ+ acceptance and education within the community.

Laura Burks, Director of Marketing

Laura Burks is a founding member of Glasgow Pride and a passionate advocate for equity and social justice. With a background in art, sales, and event planning, Laura is committed to building community and creating inclusive spaces for individuals of all backgrounds. She currently works as a Renewals Manager for Salesforce, where she has led initiatives to increase workplace inclusivity, particularly for people in larger bodies. Laura’s dedication to fighting anti-fat bias and promoting body diversity is a key element of her advocacy work. She is also deeply invested in the development of her local community and strives to create more opportunities for connection and support for LGBTQ+ individuals in the Glasgow region. Laura looks forward to a future where her children can grow up in an accepting, positive environment.

J.R. Jessie, Board Member

J.R. Jessie is a founding member of Glasgow Pride and has played an integral role in the organization’s marketing and events subcommittees. A passionate advocate for social justice, J.R. has worked on media projects for local movements like the Poor People’s Campaign and the NAACP Cave Area Chapter’s Juneteenth celebrations. He also volunteers with organizations like Cave City Cans food pantry, contributing to the region’s social betterment.
Professionally, J.R. serves as the Marketing Director for Lake Cumberland, where he collaborates with clients to deliver innovative advertising solutions. J.R. is committed to using his platform to advocate for marginalized communities, and through his work with Glasgow Pride, he continues to champion the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.

Michelle Carter, Board Member

Michelle Carter has been a long-time advocate for her community in Barren County, where she has worked in various volunteer capacities, including the United Way Allocations Board Committee and with Feeding America. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Michelle is committed to raising awareness about inclusion and creating a more accepting environment in her hometown.
Michelle holds a Master of Science in Management and works as a buyer/planner at Parker Lord. Her dedication to LGBTQ+ rights, along with her experience in local nonprofit work, makes her a valuable voice on the Glasgow Pride Board as she continues to advocate for equality and justice.

Belinda England, Board Member

Belinda is a lifelong resident of Glasgow, Kentucky. A proud graduate of Glasgow High School (1980), Belinda earned an Associate Degree in Computer Information Systems from Western Kentucky University in 1994.
For the past 27 years, Belinda has worked as a Travel Consultant and owns her own home-based travel agency, Travel by Belinda. She has a deep passion for helping people plan memorable vacations and enjoys connecting with clients to create personalized travel experiences.
Belinda has been married to her husband, Bobby, since 1982. Together, they have two children, Ashley and Bradley, and a granddaughter, Kaylee, born in 2005.
In addition to her professional work, Belinda is committed to making her hometown more inclusive and accepting for all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation. She is proud to serve on the Glasgow Pride leadership team, where she advocates for diversity and equality within the community she loves.
